Ask Wolfmother a question

Alright kids, here's the deal: Stereo Warning is going to interview Aussie rockers Wolfmother, who just won a Grammy and are on tour right now. And you get to ask the questions!

Post your questions to the boys in a comment here on Stereo Warning and watch the blog in the next two weeks to read your query and their answer.

By the way, it looks like we have a little controversy brewing, with Mike Patton of Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and Peeping Tom fame sniping back and forth with Wolfmother. We're not gonna say whose side we're on, but you make sure and ask those Aussie dudes some clever questions about that. Fire away!

I think the difference between you guys and Patton is that Patton has only COVERED old tunes, like a kind of respect for great tracks of the past. You guys actually re"INVENT" once popular music that people have a nostalgic taste for, as in, rip them off? Anyway, thats what i understand from it. I know you guys won't give a damn, but what do you think of that?

I remember reading an interview in which Andrew said that there was nothing fantasy or fiction in any of your songs lyrics.
Could you please take one of your songs and explain the lyric?

Have you guys ever thought about hosting your own TV show, similar if not the same as the fictitious TV show: Wayne's World, because that would be super rad... haha

What are your stance on bootlegs? And if it's a positive response, could it be possible a recording of Love Attacker (recorded by the sound tech crew) be leaked, maybe?

Lastly, do you guys visit the fan site www.wolfmother.net, and if so what do they think of it?

Do you have time to stop and take and a breath, and just embrace what's happening to you right now? Or is it all happening too fast and it still hasn't sunk in yet?

What are the three albums you think everyone should own?

What do you think is the best thing the band has accomplished so far/what are you most proud of as a band? Is it completing the first album? Playing to 50 000 at Big Day Out? Inducting Led Zeppelin into the Hall of Fame? etc

What are some things (not necessarily musical) that influence and inspire you? Such as artists (seeing as you all have a background in art), films, books, places, people...

Do you think you'll stay in Australia, or will you move to the U.S. because you've become too much of a celebrity at home?

What would you like to be remembered for?

If you HAD to go on a talent show like Australian Idol, what would you sing?

What is the most rock and roll thing you've done today?

sorry for all the rambling questions!

Jess

I know The White Stries are a huge influence for you guys, and you played a gig with them last year.what was it like to be playing with one of your own icons?

Did you get to meet the surviving members of Led Zeppelin when you inducted them into the UK Music Hall Of Fame? I'd be interested to know what, if anything, they had to say to you about your apparent 'ripping off' of their style.

Can you hurry up and get back in the studio please? I bought your album the day it was released in Australia so i'm kinda desperate for new material -- a live recording of Love Attacker isn't enough to tide me over.

Are any of you guys looking into any side-projects?

And finally, do you ever post on any fan forums, like.. oh.. Wolfmother.net?

Last November you guys toured the US. I went to the NYC Hammerstein Ballroom show. What were your favorite shows from that tour and when do you think you might come back?

What are views/opinions on bootlegging/taping of your shows? Do you support the free trading of these shows among fans?

I remember an article being posted on MTV about your next album and Andrew said that you guys probably won't go into the studio until next fall. Any chance of that happening sooner? I can't wait to hear what your next album will sound like!! I've heard some audio clips of those two jams, the one right after (or before, can't remember) Woman and then one right before Mind's Eye (the latter is AMAZING! that riff with the guitar and keyboard together is excellent!). Are you guys planning on incorporating them into your next album or are you gonna just keep as a live thing?

I've seen in a few interviews with you guys that you're sick of people comparing you to Led Zeppelin, and I don't blame you. How do you feel about Led Zeppelin aside from the fact that they are always being compared to you? They sort of started how you guys did (at least here in the US). They were never liked by the media but gained huge popularity here. You guys aren't HUGE here yet on a media basis but you have been gained a lot of popularity as a sort of "underground" band, as you can tell by the crowds at your November gigs. How do you feel about all that?

I've seen some videos of Andrew alone as well as with the whole band playing with Pearl Jam. What do you think of Pearl jam and what do they think of you?

And finally, I would love to know what song(s) of yours you like best to play or to listen to? Do you like them all the same?

Thanks!

-Matt

what kind of feel do you plan to have for the next album? kind of like the last one(psychadelic rock) or something completely new?

how has your success changed your life? is it for better or worse?

Do you have any firm dates set for the next album release?

Have you ever visited the Wolfmother.net fan forums?!

What is the scariest thing you ever did in your life?

Do you like sprouts?
